To spark the energy of celebration for your best day ever we’ve put 100 songs for your wedding day getting-ready playlist!
Getting wedding day ready is a particularly huge deal! Obviously, it’s the first portion of your day. It’s also the first portion of your day that will be driven by a timeline. But it’s also the only part of your day that gives you some coveted time with your inner circle before your ceremony and all of your other guests arrive. This part of your wedding day was built for fun and come also come along with a great big bag of nerves.
Nevertheless, there are a few different things that go into making this part of your day feel like magic. So, before we dive into the 100 amazing songs to add to your wedding day getting-ready playlist, we are breaking down all of the other things that need to happen to bring “that vibe” to your wedding day getting-ready suite.
Where to Get Ready?
This is a tough choice and is something that is 100% situational! You may be having a destination wedding, in which case you will have already rented out the honeymoon suite. Which makes for an amazing spot for all of your wedding party to gather and get ready. You might be getting married at a multifunctional boutique hotel venue, also the same situation because you’ll either have rented a room or receive access to the getting ready suite.
Not getting married at a venue that has overnight accommodations? If your venue is an all-one stop (ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, and/or afterparty) then they will more than likely have a specialty suite to which you will be given access.
If you are splitting your locations for the ceremony and reception, you still have a few options. Firstly, you can rent out a hotel room at a convenient location nearby or in between both venues. Secondly, you can ask a friend or family member if their home is available to get ready in. The last is to rent out a super cute Airbnb which can double as a night-before party location and a “day of” getting ready location!

To Match or Not to Match?
We love a gorgeous getting ready moment with matching robes and slippers, silk PJs, long sleeve button down flannel nightgowns, and let’s face it sweat suits from Target are also flipping amazing. It’ll be on you (because remember, you are the host of your wedding day!) to purchase these items in advance for your wedding party. If it’s you that wants those coveted moments together with your crew all matchy-matchy while your photographer clicks away, then yes the purchase and clothing choice is yours to make.
Your wedding party will keep the items for themselves after your day has long passed so it’s up to you to decide if that matchy-matchy outfit is going to be personalized, and whether or not it needs some fab accessories to go along with it. For accessories, we heart slippers, sandals, hair accessories, and/or jewelry to wear for the day. Personalized wine sippers to tote around for refills also make gorgeous photo ops, and flasks are cool too! Once you’ve selected what you’ll be gifting to your crew, those items should all go into a gorgeous gift bag for each member of your wedding party. If you want to be extra about it, have your calligrapher write their name on the gift bag!

Popping Champagne? Don’t Forget to Snack!
Look, we know how much you are dying to pop open a bottle of bubbly in your getting-ready suite, and we are right there with you. After all, this is the moment you have been waiting for and it’s worthy of celebration. But please, for the love, have some filling, protein-packed snacks at the ready! Yes, the entire day is going to feel like it’s flying by in a flash, but It’s going to be a while before you get to your dinner seating. Champagne-filled wedding parties with empty stomachs are a recipe for disaster when it comes to walking down the aisle.
There are a few super easy ways to coordinate getting some fabulous eats in your getting-ready suite! The easiest is putting someone else in charge of picking up pre-ordered snack trays the night before and having them deliver the trays to the getting-ready suite. Pinwheels, finger sandwiches, charcuterie mix-ups, hummus, and pita chips. All amazing choices!
Another fab way to make sure your whole crew is fueled for the day is by working with your caterer to add in a “morning of” small-group option. Your options will vary depending on your caterer. Are they an in-house that works through the venue? Or did you hire your own caterer? If they are considered an “in-house” caterer they may not be able to provide delivery to your getting-ready suite, or to your home the night before. But, maybe hired your own caterer. If so, inquire about the cost of adding in some “morning of” eats along with delivery.
If you’ve hired an amazing planner, they can also coordinate with your caterer to accommodate delivery or set up in your room for you!
Getting ready at a hotel room and want to receive 5-star treatment? Order up some room service and let them know it’s your special day and what your timeline is! The last option is kind of a no-brainer, delivery service apps will bring some delish food to you, just about wherever you are. If you can, order ahead, or put a trusted (non-wedding party) friend or family member in charge of taking everyone’s order and coordinating the delivery. The members of your wedding party will be buzzing around for photos, hair, and makeup, while simultaneously trying to get their jewelry on with those annoying little clasps. They will have no mental space to put left to put together an order.
Setting The Vibe While You’re Getting Ready
While the buzz is happening all around you with the arrival of your photographer and professional hair and makeup happening, your group will be racing around fussing with those annoying clasps (see the previous paragraph!). We’ll tell you that, altogether, the vibe in your getting-ready suite is going to be a really strange mix of emotions. You’ll feel excited, nervous, filled with anticipation, and slightly stressed from being under pressure from your getting-ready timeline. All while feeling that you are having an out-of-body experience because the moment you’ve always pictured in your getting-ready suite on your best day ever with your best people is finally here!
Want to soak up every moment while it unfolds, be present, and leave your getting-ready suite with amazing memories you’ll recall forever? You need an amazing wedding day getting-ready playlist! Having your playlist at either full blast or in the background of the buzz will 100% set the vibe and the energy of the room. If you want to feel the energy of lightening the mood while a room full of your best friends sings along to your favorite Britney song, you need an amazing selection of music. But, yeah, do you need another thing on your never-ending planning checklist right now? Probably not. Here’s how to get that amazing playlist without the extra work!
